NATASHA WINS FAN'S CHOICE CSA AWARD!!! | KindaTV ft. Natasha Negovanlis

On Sunday night Natasha won the Fan's Choice Award at the Canadian Screen Awards! (It's like the Canadian Oscars). Everyone at KindaTV, Smokebomb & Shaftesbury are SO PROUD of Natasha!!

We had another video planned for today - but Natasha really wanted to shoot a video to thank all of her fans and to answer some of your questions!

I don't think I've ever seen you this vulnerable and emotional on camera before Natasha, but I love it because it speaks volumes to just how much this award means to you. I am only one voice among thousands, but I know I speak for many of us when I say we are so proud of you. While I was growing up, what I heard the most about my sexuality was "you can't tell anyone about this", "you have to hide it", "people will be mean to you if they know you're a lesbian". And, yeah, people were mean. I had a very tough time in high school because I was openly - though not proudly - gay. So, to protect myself, I got into a shell. I didn't have any friends, and found extremely dificult to socialize.

Eventually, I met some wonderful people that made me feel I could be myself again, and not be ashamed of how I feel and who I am, but hearing your speech I thought "gosh, if I only heard that when I was a teenager".

You're doing something HUGE for our community. H-U-G-E. I'm so proud of you. To have you as our voice is a gift. I've never felt more proud to be a lesbian than when I heard you up there on the stage, speaking to me and for me.

So, thank YOU, from the bottom of my heart <3 you deserve this and much more.
