If Trump is too dangerous to be on Twitter than he is too dangerous to have nuclear codes.

Ya know one of the better ways to defend democracy? Don’t vote for a fascist. Yes! This statement was for the Magat hats.

I heard him on the Rachel Maddow show the other day and was just thinking of this interview.... We need more people reading history in this world...

The slogan" Make America Great AGAIN " Should of been all the warning people needed.

Watching this when it originally aired was intriguing. Watching it 5 days after the Capitol Hill attack is absolutely enlightening.

Timothy Synder had an essay in the NY Times today for those who are interested.

History will remember the Trump name forever being synonymous with American fascism, and the only thing missing from Trump being the literal definition of a fascist Kakistocrary, , , is another k.

Funny as hell how the guest say "fascism" while the host just straight up "Trump". 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Another great book to read I "How democracies die"... It was written I think about a year into Trump's presidency. the signs have come to fruition. In a VERY short period of time.

I always like to point out that “A lie is designed to be believed and truth is hard to bear!” That’s why accepting the lie is often more successful from the truth! Take the rioters of the Capitol! Their committed to the lie so much so they find themselves trapped in it! All they have to do is admit they made a mistake and they believed the lie!

Not so easy to do!

Please add an "Originally aired on [date]" to the description when posting reruns! Otherwise, excellent interview and timely message.

“You look around and see how many people failed” doing something, “and you learn from it”. Great advise.

A good reminder that the ‘alarmists’ weren’t motivated by political opposition but were recognizing how dangerous, historically, the rhetoric was and where it could lead if it wasn’t taken seriously.
The thing about being an alarmist that people don’t seem to appreciate... the abusive name calling and labels of ‘hysteric’ are much more tolerable than their fears being validated because if they are proven to be right, that means they failed.
I love that the Daily Show keeps reposting this interview and I will engage and promote it every time as I hope more people come to understand that it wasn’t about the man or his policies, but the effect and harm of dangerous rhetoric if not taken seriously. It is what allowed the absurd ideas of QAnon and Plandemic to take hold on such a large segment of the American population after all.

This brings into stark relief that role that Kellyanne Conway played in bringing "Alterrnate Facts" into the mainstream. From the White House, as counselor to the *president. I just watched an ABC special about white supremacy, and the role Trump has played in its resurgence. We have very dangerous times ahead, and we do need to learn from Germany. How did they address fascism and Nazism post WWII?
