Just fitted a rear Mudhugger & extender to my 29" Pivot Mach SL and couldn't be happier. It's the right design, the right size and fitted in the right place. Actually it's a bit like a bigger Crudcatcher but attached to the rear fork rather than the seatpost. This is exactly how I would have designed a rear mudguard for a full sus. Bit pricey but it is really solid and more rigid than a Zefal Defender (which worked well on my Zesty but wouldn't fit my Pivot).

I decided years ago, (after spending a small fortune on different mudguards), that the way to go for trail riders like me is to fit and forget the rear but to have a quick fitting and stowable front mudguard. I won't buy your front mudguard because it is zip tied and won't fit properly around the power bulge on my 29" Rockshox SID fork. I wish you'd come up with a front which would fit properly on a SID fork but could be stowed in a backpack and fitted without tools or zip ties. I'm thinking of either a bung fitting or a fitting around the yoke like the POWA Dfender but with the blade in two halves like a Topeak Defender FX (but long enough for a 29). Or a clip on, stancion mounted front in two parts. Now that I could kill for.

How to drill a hole through your finger lol. The extender can be removed, are the fixing studs reusable?

Do you need the extensions for a 29" bike also with the 29" rear mudguard? Front yes, but for the rear Hugger too? Have you experience? Greetings from Germany!

Why not just have holes on the main mudguard out of the box? Not all of us have power tools...

drilling slippery things whilst holding on is a bad idea!

put down a piece of wood and drill into that not your hand.
