Simple Inventory Menu System - VB.NET Game Programming - Work In Process (UPDATE)

Doh! I misspelled "poultice"... :-P

Many of you have requested an inventory menu tutorial, so I've been throwing together something "simple". Hah. Of course, a full system would have item classes, images, etc... Of course that makes for a brutal tutorial session. What I hope to give you, instead, is a basic understanding of how to create a simple menu system using an X/Y grid, rather than a linear 1-D menu from a List.

We'll use very basic menu graphics to give you an idea of how to add your own. Then we'll use our input class to toggle through the selections.

Thanks, Oginanimator! It's amazing how much I've learned since I first started. I often go back and review old videos and cringe when I see how I did things so long ago. lol I appreciate you and the others who have stuck with me for so long and pushed me and inspired me to keep moving forward. :-)

Thanks, TeamMCAssassin! :-) Of course, I knew when I started toying with the idea of game programming with VB that I'd be fighting the tide and standing in opposition to well established trends.

I never expected to be popular for this, and in all honesty, the subs I have now are far beyond what I ever dreamed I'd have.

Great set of Tutorials lately, will be watching the NPC one next. Before you do a Battle System would like to see spawning enemies and having them use a FOV seek ability to get to a Battle.
