For a while they tried to deny any zeppelin influence so idk where that bs that they acknowledged it came from, last interview I saw they said the influence came from buddy guy lmfao not knocking these kids, but damn these guys are trying to look more like zeppelin than even zeppelins own kids

Their music stands on its own. I don't care what anyone says, in their early days they receive Robert plant's blessing then they matured and evolved. Their sound now is so complex so rich and so well developed, they are a force of nature. And here's the thing they didn't suffer a sophomore slope They are getting better and better and better with each release. They have sold over a million tickets over 250 dates on five continents over the last two years. These guys have sold 3 and 1/2 million albums with just Three studio albums and they have a Grammy. You can hate all you want, but the facts speak for themselves.

The comparison was mostly because of the wailing GVF singer. Yes they played blues/folk/psychedelic influenced rock but if they had a different singer I don't think the comparison would have happened. Anyway I like GFVs earlier stuff but haven't been as impressed with newer releases.
To me, Zeppelin are the greatest rock band of all time.

I love this band! I don’t mind the Zepplin sound at all because after all, the Zepplin sound is the late 60s and 70s vibe that really takes me back to my youth. Listening to Greta van fleet it’s like listening to 70s style music, but the music is actually new. And the fact that this band is extremely talented just blows me away. So basically, if you’re in the mood to listen to Led Zeppelin, rod Stewart, heart or any other 70s band, but you’re tired of hearing the same songs for the last 50 years, play some Greta van fleet

The fact that they all played in a Led Zeppelin tribute band together before going on to write “original” material is the biggest reason for their look and sound.

I wish more bands played this kind of music. They do sound a lot like early Led Zeppelin . Zeppelin were able to really mix in all kinds of styles and make good songs influenced by world music, folk music from Wales, Ireland America, Morocco and India . Progressive rock, pop songs, early rock and roll, etc . That's what sets them apart from the bands that sound similar . Page played several different guitars and Jones played all kinds of instruments. Obviously Bonham is just about as good as drummers get. I hope Greta evolves into something good and original because they at least have good influences.
