The Feeling of Summer

In the Australian rainforest, summer has arrived. We've been swimming in the stream, sewing, embroidering, picking flowers, planting trees and cooking from the garden. These hot summer days are filled with beauty.

We are sisters, Julia and Anastasia Vanderbyl. A few years ago, we began a journey to live a life in perfect harmony with nature. A life of caring for animals, growing fruit, planting trees, gardening, cooking, creating, building and learning to live with the land.
In this time, nature has taught us more than we could have ever imagined.

Our environmental films document the landscape, the lessons we’ve learnt and our work as regenerative farmers here on Bundjalung Country.

We live on the land of the Arakwal and Minjungbal People of the Bundjalung Nation. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Country we live on and recognise their continuing connection to the land and waters. We thank them for protecting this rainforest and its ecosystems since time immemorial.

I moved home to assist my mother who fell ill, very, very ill and with my asistance and prayers from all the folks here at home she recovered miraculously. I was an Artist in a forien opera for 15 years away from the USA and I spoeak 5 languages which we sang in every week, french, romanian, italian, german, and cut records in English. But after buying the property on Cedar Mountain I watched you two beautiful girls to learn and to have friends. Now I am in Kansas City and I have a talent agent . I played Santa, the grinch, and almost got a role as a singing Elf. I watch you two and see your creativity bolstering with care and pragmatism. Nice, Merry Christmas. I suppose my trees are up there on Cedar Mountain growing.

My name is Arthur Howard. And I live in the U.S.A. You have such a large following and you are probably not going to get a chance to read this, but I came across one of your videos a few days ago for the first time and was very impressed. Not just with you and your sister's decision to move back to the farm, but also for the reasons why you decided to do so. I'm sure your mother appreciates it so much and with your brother and his girlfriend living nearby, it makes everything come full circle for everyone in your family. You expressed in one of your videos that you had a lot of dreams and projects set for the farm. This shows that you both are looking out for the future of the farm. Not just for yourselves, but for your kids and grandkids and many generations to come. That is an Awesome vision to have. You hit the nail on the head when you said some of your plans an ideas with some of the projects you wanted to do might need some assistance from some of your followers lol. Especially ones you said you knew nothing about on how to do it, but you knew what you wanted the finished product to look like and how you want them to function. Well, you're in luck. On some of the projects you mentioned. I can help you out with some of them. However, I won't waist time writing a novel here if you both don't have a chance to read this. But if you do get a chance to read this and are interested in what advice I can give you guys.
