Designed for rainscreen siding with built-in furring attachment strips. Unlike traditional exterior insulation methods that are tedious and fraught with the potential of making simple mistakes over multiple steps that can lead to major problems and energy loss.

In this video we compare two methods of continuous insulation. Both wall systems start out identical, both methods achieve a high-performance wall, including steel studs, fire rated wall board and a Weather-resistive barrier, that performs as a protective shell for the building if wind driven water penetrates the exterior finish. A weather-resistant barrier must meet the latest requirements of the International Building Code for water-resistance, and vapor permeability. (IBC 1402.2)*
The next step in the process is to assure that the vapor permeability layer functions is to introduce a capillary break between the WRB and the thermal insulation. InSoFast builds this function into the panel, other construction methods incorporate an additional layer by installing a drainage matt or wrinkle wrap.
Special fasteners with plastic washers hold the flat stock foam boards in place
InSoFast molded panels have tongue and groove interlocks this self-flashing feature keeps the water out, other manufacturers of insulation boards, their flat edges, when they intersect, require specialized tapes or sealants to prevent wind drive rain from penetrating through the insulation barrier.

light gauge hat channel or furring strip is installed to structurally pin the foam board into place. Long metal fasteners puncture through the insulation, drainage matt, WRB, and fire rated wall board into the structural metal stud. This creates a thermal short circuit of the exterior fastener directly to the building’s thermal mass; this connection can degrade the thermal performance of the exterior insulation up 10%. An R-10 is an R-9.
This thermal intersection at the light gauge hat channel and fastener creates a condensation point where rust can occur.
Too many parts and pieces lead to potential problems on the jobsite. the human factor
InSoFast take the complexity out of exterior continuous insulation. One panel reduces 5 trips to the wall and replaces 25 parts and pieces.
We mold our drainage channels and non-ferrous studs into the insulation panel where structural fasteners can be thermally isolated and sealed away from the elements.
We engineer insulation in the factory instead of assembling it in the field, WHY WORK SO HARD

2018 International Residential Code for water resistance (IRC R703.1.1)2.
Types of Weather Resistant/Water Resistive Barriers (WRB)
• Self-Adhered Sheet.
• Fluid-Applied Membrane.
• Closed Cell, Medium Density Spray Polyurethane Foam.
• Factory-Bonded Membranes to Sheathing.
• Board stock – Rigid Cellular Insulation Board.
• Mechanically Attached Flexible Sheet.
