The most surreal false awakening I had, was when I woke up after a lucid dream, grabbed my dream journal, and starting writing the lucid dream down. When I was done, I put down the dream journal and went back to sleep. When I woke up just after "falling back asleep", there was nothing in my dream journal. I had litterely written a lucid dream down in my dream journal, INSIDE A DREAM. That was pretty crazy.

I've had at least a "10 layered" dream before. By the 6th or 7th false awakening it was just bloody annoying, because every time I left my room to go explore the dream I'd end back up in my bed.

I am watching this video because I frequently experience false awakenings, but this morning I experienced a dream with at least ten layers if not more. It was annoying and very terrifying because each layer had a different storyline and they were so realistic it made me extremely suspicious when I actually woke up.

Perhaps that's why I can't Lucid Dream - my brain would've took one look at the moon and gone " Wow, the moon is big tonight" then carried on as if nothing was out of the ordinary

I felt the embrace of insanity a moment ago. Waking up from a dream going on as if everything is normal, realizing I'm asleep by seeing furniture in strange gravity defying positions, focusing really hard on waking up, and then end up realizing I'm in a dream over and over again for what felt like a few dozen times. I was seriously beginning to question whether or not I would ever wake up at all. I was questioning if my entire reality was wrong and if superstitious phenomena really did exist. I kept trying to break out of it until eventually I started hearing a certain short tune play whenever I would open my eyes again. I think that really helped because it would tell me immediately that I was still in a dream. I was able to wake up shortly afterwords and to no surprise I felt thirsty. Being dehydrated always causes strange dreams. Even now as I'm writing this I feel the panic lingering. I know that I'm awake this time because I can feel the difference between being awake and asleep but that doesn't change the fact that a few minutes ago I was still questioning whether I was awake or asleep every time I opened my eyes and the fear that my entire reality was going to change forever.

I once dreamt that I woke up, when I looked outside and saw a massive red piano on the pathway in my back yard. I immediately knew I was dreaming because why would there be a massive red piano on the pathway in my back yard?

Just a little while later, I woke up for real, anyway, very good video, very good work 💙🏔️

This happens to me a lot. It usually happens when I know there's something coming up that I might be nervous or excited about

My method to deal with false awakenings goes like this: whenever I wake up I assume that it's false awakening, I try not to open my eyes or make any movement so I can fall back into a dream, after a while I try to "levitate myself out of my body" which usually starts a lucid dream in which I'm in my room. Later it's really hard to tell If I had FA or normal ones, but this doesn't really matter I suppose because it ends in LD unless I'm totally waken up.

I've also had a false awakening in which I wrote my dream down, only to actually wake up and realize what I had written wasn't there. Then I proceeded to write that down in the journal as well.

What if you wake up in your bed and you can’t move your body, and your body moves on its own? It moves you outta bed and when you wake up, you realize that it was just a dream. It turns out that you were in your bed the whole time.

I once had about 4 or five false awakenings in a row. Either that or I fell back asleep a few times.

I had a false awakening nightmare however it was several times. One was about me laying in bed scared from overthinking. Then “ I woke up “ but I fell back to sleep with that same feeling. Then as I went back to sleep I kept reliving the same feeling of some horrible thing out to get me. Then I started to hear things after my third awakening. Then I had a proper dream but of course it was a nightmare. I wake up from the nightmare just to be in another nightmare. This mess sucks. (If this makes no sense it’s because I just woke up and it’s super early)

I once came back from a lake trip, I was tired and sunburned so I laid down for a nap on my futon bed thing. Indeed, I fell asleep and proceeded to dream that I was awakening over and over. I realized that I was asleep I just couldn't wake up.. then it dawned on me.... I think I'm dead. That's why I can't wake up into worldly consciousness. I began to get really scared as I was still really young and I had never heard of this type of dream. This dream awakening cycle happened a bunch of times. I was finally able to wake up and I was so scared but relieved I was finally able to really wake up. I went and found my sister that didn't really care for me all that much, I told her what had happened and how scary it was. She was surprisingly supportive. Thankfully I haven't experienced that same type of dream again. Even regular dreams sometimes have me wake up with my adrenaline soaring so you can imagine. It was very vivid as well. Very realistic.

Yesterday I fell asleep on my couch. I then had a false awakening where I woke up on the same couch, but I was so tired that I could not get up. I kept fighting the urge to fall back asleep. I then began to hear very unsettling noises all around me. It was quite terrifying

I had my false awakening today. i was dreaming and suddenly a person stood next to me and it scared me so much that i fell back off my chair and i remember falling through the floor before waking up. Then i went into the living room talked to my dad, and then i woke up again. I screamed when i woke up for real.

I had a false awakening last year that I cant stop thinking about. It was about 3 layers but when I "woke up" for the last time my mom in my dream told me I had been asleep for a year. when I actually did wake up it took me a while to realize I was actually conscious. Interesting to know its loosely related to lucid dreaming

When i was a child i used to listen to my mom to say wake up for school, but didn't want to leave bed, so without noticing fall asleep and dream that i stay up, go to take a shower for the school get dressed and all that stuff that i just didn't wanted to do, and I hated because after waking up i had to do it all again! Oh that horrible feeling, remember I still felt sleepy on the dream haha :(
