Agree with your analysis, and the sequels have actually been pretty good with a decent creep factor. It sure outdoes all the found footage crap by a country mile. It helps that the Warrens are engaging and skeptical too 👍🏻

I'm extremely curious as to what your thoughts/opinions are on the Conjuring 2, and how the Conjuring based fanchise (of which you mentioned being open to in this video) has developed throughout the various films following the first movie (such as Annabelle, the Nun, etc.). Personally, the Conjuring wasn't my favourite horror film in the slightest, but I did find myself greatly enjoying it's sequal, the Conjuring 2. That being said, most of the other films in the franchise (particularly Annabelle) fell completely flat, in my personal opinion. If you have watched the other films in the Conjuring franchise or are planning/willing to, I would love to hear any opinions on them, or even the franchise as a whole (whichever you feel like doing, or if you only have time/motivation to do one film rather than an overview, I honestly don't mind). I've just recently found your channel, and have, admittedly, been binge watching your reviews of various films, as well as your films theories and dissections of films. I really enjoy your content and have come to greatly value your opinion. :)

If someone finds "The Conjuring" utterly forgettable and not worthwhile as a horror film, let me know which scary movies were superior to it that year for you. For me, the only other solid ones from 2013 were "You're Next" and "World War Z" ... and, like "The Conjuring", they were not brilliant films-- just a fun time at the movies.
