Max Kersey interviews: Sir Isaac Newton

Seasoned interviewer Max Kersey crosses swords with the rather serious genius, Newton.

Sir Isaac Newton (1643-1727) revolutionized our understanding of the physical world through his work in mathematics, optics, and physics. While at Cambridge University, he developed calculus, analyzed the nature of light, and formulated the laws of motion and universal gravitation. His masterwork, Principia Mathematica, established the foundations of classical mechanics. Despite being one of history's most influential scientists, he was also deeply interested in alchemy and biblical studies, and served as Master of the Royal Mint in his later years.

Small Print: We don't know what Newton actually sounded like, other than knowing how he pronounced words (thanks to Newton himself keeping notes on the subject). He would have had a Lincolnshire dialect - rather different from that presented here.
