Such is the predicament most people find themselves in, daily use services are some of the most subtle offenders to efficiency and climate change but you're still forced or at least expected to use them. I wish people had more influence over the practices and methodology of the systems we engage with, it would allow so much improvement in such a short time.
Here in Australia I use Bank Australia, which I admittedly haven't dug into too much, but they do hold votes for policy and future of the bank as well as generally engaging with their customers far more than any bank I've ever been with, and seem to have much more ethical approach to finances in general.
