Man has become averse to the world. In four chapters this EP describes a process of inversion of the nihilistic world outlook that has turned the concepts of sublimity and meaning into emptiness and nullity. The space of reality taken under purely rational terms is hollow.
The absurdness of such an insubstantial ‚factuality‘ gets confronted with the otherworldly realm of dreams on From the Ivory Deathbed. Thereafter Council of Rats summons the forces of this world created by the imagination to rise up against a humanity languishing in the stupor of nothingness and to erase it.
This apocalyptic vision finds its fulfillment on Tongue Eaters where the tidings of the downfall come to fruition. But among the mythically personified forces of the end also voidness itself appears once again and even annihilation cannot reconcile man and world.
Returning from the realm of imagination the epilogue Indra‘s Wound attributes the power of transformation to the spirit from which the last glimmers of divinity have not yet vanished. Though the eschatological battle still has not been fought we can hear an old dying god whispering: WAR!
