APS TARC Webinar: Urgent Housing Programs for APS Clients

This webinar was held for ACL Adult Protective Services formula grantees. It reviewed options to meet the emergency and urgent housing needs of APS clients. The presentation began with an overview of options that APS programs can explore for establishing emergency housing when a client must be placed very quickly. The discussion of emergency housing options is followed by a presentation from The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Center for Elder Justice at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale about elder abuse shelter programs and the SPRiNG Alliance, a network of elder abuse shelters nationwide. The presentation addressed the different shelter operation models used across the county, how to start a shelter program in your community, and lessons learned in the field.
