SUPER INSANE "BIE" ERROR WHEAT BACK PENNY 1957 D
or is this a sweet example of CUD build up that happens to fill in a letter...

Take a look at the B in LIBERTY...the lower part is completely filled in! One of the best BIE error coins I have found to date while coin roll hunting :)

Nice one, yeah, you are right, the good ones read "libierty" the error makes the coin looks like it has another "I" in it. I used to have one from the 50's, not sure if I still do though

Several posted videos have addressed the partially filled "B" on 1957 D cents but I have yet to see any discussion of how common (or not) these might be. Of late., I have spent a good deal of time sorting and organizing ca. 6, 500 wheat cents I have accumulated over the past several years and found among these 163 1957 D cents. Upon examining these, I found that 25 or 15.3% (for practical purposes about 1 in 7) of these showed a fill "B" in "Liberty" leading me to conclude that while these coins are of numismatic interest by no means do they appear to be either rare or even particularly scarce. I might further mention that among the sample available to me I saw no examples of either a filled "9" in "1957" or a "BIE" in "Liberty." suggesting that these coins are far fewer in number. I did not search for other so-called errors among the 1957 D cents.
