Victoria records 510 new COVID-19 cases

Victoria has recorded 510 new COVID-19 infections in the state with only 124 of them linked to an existing cluster.

It comes as the state prepares to ease restrictions following the vaccination milestone of 70 per cent having had their first dose.

More freedoms have been given to Victorians in the wake of the vaccination achievement, which includes an increased excise time from 2 to 4 hours permitted, the five-kilometre radius travel distance extended to ten, and house inspections open by appointments.

One person can also meet another from separate households despite their vaccination status for a picnic and for fully vaccinated, two households of up to five adults can gather outside.

At least Sky is reporting them as infections, no matter how dubious. However this doesn't contribute to the hysteria by calling them "cases".
