2:30 Disclaimer: the BMR (basal metabollic rate) was the amount of calories you need for your organs/ your body to function, to stay alive...
To lose weight by a calorie deficit- your calorie intake should be below your TDEE (total daily energy expense) and not your BMR. Below BMR can be dangerous
This is what I commonly see by nutitionist/ fitness or weight loss experts. But it may be wrong, everyone's calorie intake is different... so my apologies!

Man, as a notorious under-eater I have to track what I eat otherwise I end up on around 1000 calories a day myself (basically about half of what I should be eating when I’m training almost everyday. Resistance band-user here!✋🏻)It’s not even on purpose; I just find eating and making food incredibly boring. Joke’s on me when I’m dead before even starting the workout🤣

I have PCOS and macros make a big difference to me, I've found lower carb numbers work for me, but that's for medical reasons. For weight loss, recording what you eat is really helpful. Unless you can't be healthy about that.
