I was so impressed with the chickadee landing on your palm. Thank you for sharing and describing your favorite tools, I am quite envious of your raised bed vegetable garden. I want to build some raised beds a little taller to discourage resident ground hogs.

Susan, I'm glad that you included the little chickadee eating from your hand, how sweet. You've heard me mentioned before that they are one of my favorite birds.
I love the thumb controls on Dramm watering tools, so convenient. I use most of the same tools you do, plus I bought a very large heavy-duty screwdriver, it's about two feet long, I use it as a weeder on weeds with long taproots. It works great in my clay soil! I've thought about getting a couple of mailboxes for my garden, so my favorite tools are close by when I need them. Most long-time gardeners have multiples of our favorite tools, like snips, bypass pruners, plant ties, and weeding tools. I love the idea of keeping them where they're used. I stopped your video and added mailboxes to my list of items to look for at the thrift stores. Thanks for that reminder.

Ok, you must teach us how to get a wild bird to eat out of your hand. That was amazing! Love your videos :)

My favorite is a hand held hoe and cultivator tiller. I just got a dibber and used it to plant my onion starts and it worked perfectly. I have the same garden gloves you do and love them as well. My favorite long-handle tool is hoop/stirrup/hula hoe - different names all the same hoe - makes quick work on weeds.

Susan, I learn so much from you! My husband found an old mailbox in our shed, and put it up in our garden. (He even painted the flag red.) Will be buying a dibble, will be great for all these onion plants I started. Thank you for the great videos! Judy Mccurry

Well done Ms. Susan. I have one old screw driver that I call: "My good for everything screw driver" It does seem to be one of my go to tools. One thing we have that we really like is the floral shovel. My wife is rather petite. I use it a lot too. I do need to get a kneeler bench. Thank you. Best wishes Bob.

Thanks Susan, really helpful video 👍🏻 Have you heard of Jakoti shears? They are actually sheep shears! They are like giant scissors, are really sharp and you only need one hand. They will cut multiple stems at the same time so are brilliant for trimming or cutting back perennials and save so much time 🙂 They will also cut weed membrane and cardboard. I wouldn’t be without them, they last for years 😊

Great video! I would add a good sun hat. I found a soft wide brim one from Scala that works very well. It's made from fabric with UV protection. Looking forward to your next video and your book as well.

Those are some great tool recommendations. And I don't mind the length - bring on the long videos! 😁

I want to hear the pink hammer story. I've used a mailbox in my garden for years. But it doesn't have a hammer. 🤣

How did you train the bird to land on your palm?

Thank you for this video. I was getting sick of 'best garden tools' videos that felt more like sales pitches than what the person actually uses. Your video feels like these are the tools you actually use. Question: on the cobra head weeder, if you had to choose only one of those, which? And do you think the long handled version would make a difference for larger areas?

Thanks for the ideas! I’m really intrigued by that cobra head weeder and would love to see it in action. I’m having a hard time envisioning how it works. But I’m sure it would eliminate the infuriating warping and bending with most cheap models. Also have you ever tried a Pro Plugger? That’s on my list to try.
