1987 KX500 first start after rebuild

After 5months restoring this 1987 KX500, it came to this. The previous fails have been attributed to poor carb setup, use of 95octane unleaded and kickstart ratchet slipping.
It has been disassembled until no two nuts and bolts were fastened together, new piston, new crankshaft, new main bearings and oil seals, re-plated barrel, new clutch, clutch plates, new cylinder head (old one leaked coolant), rebuilt water pump, new coolant hoses etc etc The exhaust silencer is home grown, temporary until a new DEP one turns up. Its an old 1.5litre aluminium water bottle with a drilled steel pipe up the middle and 4 stainless steel scouring pads packed in the voids.

The trick to starting these is Rockoil octane booster, and super unleaded.
