This video presents a lecture on the theoretical analysis for elastic modulus and strength of a unidirectional continuous fibre composite in the longitudinal direction. You will learn about the calculations of the elastic modulus and strength of a composite if you know those properties of the fibre and the matrix and the volume fraction of the fibre. The video also explains why there is no strengthening in such a composite if the fibre volume fraction is below a critical value.
