Is Your CAS Too Bright? Here's The Solution! | The Sims 2 Create A Sim Lighting Fix

If you use this mod, you don't need to turn on shaders, unless of course you also wanna get the other benefits of shaders. But if you only use shaders, some cc objects might still look off in CAS. So to get the best effect, use both!

I started playing TS2 again because it was my favorite game while growing up and this happened. I literally didn't touch any if the sliders or clothes, just left my sim the same way she was generated. Guess I was tremendously lazy to close the game, look for a solution, solve the problem and play again. Luckily she turned out to be prettier than an average townie. I'll try this tomorrow and maybe shape her the way I originally planned. Thanks!

I’ve had this issue for quite a long time now, the mod in the description made my sims, trees and a few buildings flash pink (I had graphics rules maker installed) so I went to the games files at - C: > Program Files x86 > EA GAMES > The Sims 2 > TSData > Res > Lights - then I discovered which file was causing the problem because I removed a few to see what the problem was, the Lightning.txt was causing the issue because I removed it and it was mostly fine, it was dark in CAS, the chair and a few pictures were still overly bright but the mirror sim and rug were normal, to put it simply go to that path I copied out in this comment and delete Lightning.txt (NOT CAS_LIGHTS.txt), so I guess it’s a “fix” for anyone who can’t fix it, it’s not the same but it’s better then not being able to see anything, hope it helps someone

It's still too bright for me. Is there any way I can force it to stop being too bright? I was under the impression that the brightness was a result of copying neighbourhoods from one of my old PCs which had a bad graphics card. But after coming across this video, I'm wondering if the brightness is being caused by something else.
