Happy Thursday! The ROSE BOWL FLEA MARKET was this past weekend and I wanted to take you guys shopping with me to find somethings we can FLIP into amazing pieces of decor! The Rose Bowl Flea Market is always fun to browse and see what unique pieces I can find — even though it was supposed to rain…AGAIN! ugh. the "pilwa", which is that woven bag the woman was showing at the beginning (at 2:23) are making a comeback in Chile. It is a very old tradition in the south, my grandma taught me how to make them, it is quite a lengthy process from the recollection of the material, drying it and then weaving it, and they used to be very very inexpensive... people who made them used to exchange them for a couple of kilos of flour or some eggs, whatever they could get. Now people actually appreciate them and with a fair reason! they are gorgeous and they last literally forever! I have one that belonged to my mom, it has around 20 years and still looks like new! they also can take a loooot of weight, they really are THE best reusable bag you could own. You really should have bought one!

yey! as a chilean, to see you put the lady talking about our country and culture make me so happy. Chiloé is a well known island for its style and culture. Love it! it would be awesome if after the pandemic its over you could come and visit :)

I am amazed at how much restraint you have when at a flea market, especially since that one had so much great stuff! Your thrift shops are also packed with such good finds. Living out in the 'boonies' we just don't get much of a selection, harder to find hidden treasures. Also wanted to mention that you gotta bargain with those venders. Since many expect people will haggle over their prices they tend to ask for more expecting that they will be bargained down. It does get tiresome having to fight over their prices, but if you really like something fight for a better price. Also, one disadvantage of going so early in the morning is that they aren't ready to let things go for much less. Best selection though.

I love the way you can look at something most of would find weird but useless and Yuen is into something creative and beautiful. It certainly will change I look at things from thrift stores and flea markets from now on.
