STEAMPUNK STEAMER TRUNK - I guess everybody's doing trunks now?

This week in the shop Trena uses a variety of techniques to repair and restore an all-metal trunk.

My goodness, Sweet Trena, you worked with metal, tin, wood, paper and leather on this project. You even had to do a bit of sewing. Very tedious stuff, but fun and relaxing watching this video. It amazes me to see how much work can go into a smaller object like this trunk. You have to wonder why that one piece of metal was peeled back like a sardine can! Wonderful job as usual, Trena. Shop looks wonderful!!!

The colour red is gorgeous. We call this colour ‘ox blood red’ (ossen bloed rood)It’s a colour much used in the 16th 17th and 18 centuries in the Netherlands for trunks and ceiling beams and doors and also Frisian furniture.

You got the trunk to finish out beautifully, love the colors and textures in/ on the trunk. Excellent job of relining the interior, like the fact that you left that section of original paper liner showing, that is part of the history and character of the trunk. Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching, beautiful piece. Shop is looking great, the time to get the power to the building will go quickly, you are a busy young lady, that makes time fly, so to speak.

Delays are so inevitable when it comes to builds and renos. My late husband would say that patience is it's own reward. On the positive side, the trunk looks great!

I am in awe of your new workplace. It will be fantastic. I am proud of you pushing through all the bad experiences to get to the light at the end of the tunnel. You are a strong woman.
