Definitely appreciate how small they made this lens!
But f4 without stabilization makes the (better than the old 16-35 f4) price harder to swallow. Especially for guys like me on the A7C trying to have a light but affordable vlogging setup.
Love that smooth zoom though.

Nice! I ended up with the Sigma 14-24, but this looks promising.

Hey Jeven! As always well explained! What do you think of the Nikon Z6? I am using currently a Sony a6500 but now its already 4 years old and in terms of SloMo the resolution and sharpness isnt that good.

I sold my 20/1.8 and bought this one. Worth noting that the Power Zoom can be remotely controlled with Sony's Imaging Edge app or their physical remote control. Brilliant for my video work.

Hi, Jeven! I just switched from Canon to Sony and an a7iv. I've been doing photography for 12 years, and now I'm wanting to learn video. not vlogging, but commercial-style video work. I started with the Sony 24-105mm f4, for an all-purpose, walk-around, lens, for photography. for video, especially for someone like me, who is just starting out, would you recommend the Sony 16-35 PZ f4 over the Sony 20mm f1.8? or, should I even start with the Tamron 17-28mm f2.8? I don't mind spending a little more $$, if it is going to get me into a lens that will help me make more efficient use of my time, i.e., the extra features/functionality that the 16-35 PZ offers...as well as being native glass. thanks, in advance, and keep up the excellent content!!🤘🏼

Are you using 72mm variable ND filter or 77mm with a stepup ring to avoid vignetting when filter is installed?

Paired with a gimbal + the wireless Sony remote it’ll be a killer !

I already got A7mk1 + 50 1.8 but I am thinking of getting FE 16-35g vs Zeiss 16-35. I want to shoot travel, landscape, street photography please give me a recommendation?

HI! I just bought that to my a7c - it's important to mention that the main benefit of that lens for video is the control of the zoom speed which is NOT AVAILABLE in many sony cameras as A7C!! I think thats the main thing which should be reviewed. that fact does not appear in ANY review regarding that lens - which is remarkable no doubt, but some features will not work with all cameras at all.

Does your distortion example reflect the automatic distortion correction on or off?

Does the focal length stay on the selected value eg. 30mm when you turn off & on the camera? Or it gets back to the 16mm once you turn the camera off?

I am so confused, i hv the 16-35 GM but it’s massive and I am looking for a vlog lens. Not sure if I get the 20 mm 1.8 G or this 16-35 G f4 version…I am just skeptical coz this f4 is too dark, they should atleast make it 3.5 atleast.
