Changed the oil at the 100 hour mark on the 2 VX Deluxe's. Thought I would share one of them. This is the third oil change, following the factory manual. Let me know if there is anything that I need to do differently.

Best waverunner oil change video I found, very informative and I liked the top view shot of the video, this will help me try it on mine, thanks.

I believe that the reason they recommend siphoning the oil from the dipstick hole first is because the oil is draining back into the crankcase from the time you shut the motor off, which would explain why he got more oil out of the crankcase after getting it out of the oil tank. The reason they recommend adding oil to both filler holes is because the oil tank will fill up before you get all 3.5 quarts in through the dipstick hole. I learned this the hard way. By adding oil to both holes saves time not having to wait for the oil to drain out of the oil tank. Good video!

If you own a Yamaha with a TR-1HO engine then this is the site to watch to check or change your oil. I watched a bunch of videos and this was the only one that showed the hose and “second” reservoir that needed to be emptied and refilled. Thank you!

Great video, well done, clear and concise. I would suggest to use a 1qt measure, that way you will always know how much you put in.

The only thing that I do different, is once the oil filter is off, put the siphon tube down the oil filter hole. Should get a couple more ounces more out of it. Good job!

Wow, thanks. This is exactly what I was looking for. My Waverunner EX has the same engine and should be the same procedure. Yamaha dealership wants $200/ski to change the oil and I have 2. Just saved me a lot of money. Thanks a bunch...

Very well done video! I just finished doing my 2017 vx deluxe thanks to you! Only thing that took some getting used to was trying to hold and pour the huge gallon of oil into the small hose without overflowing and spilling it all over. I recommend getting a quart size bottle and splitting it up for each side. Its more of a pain but less messy. Alt least for me. Also, a few of rags on hand is useful.

Great video and thank you for posting this. This really helped me with doing my own oil changes on my skis.

It says right on the side on Yamahas filters to oil the o ring. The grease on there just keeps the seal fresh and will make a better seal when put on the machine. High quality stuff.

Thanks for the video. Picked up my skis after dealer oil change. Kid behind the counter says " I've never done oil change on a jetski before...that was neat". Checked my oil to find it at "full" while ski is ice-cold. Wonder how overfilled it is.

punch a hole in top of oil filter and it will drain out before you take it off. just a small vent hole will do

OK question here for anybody that could help me I have a 2018 Yamaha VX cruiser and the first time I’ve ever owned one and definitely an amateur at this. I went to check the oil straight cold and it was low. I added a quart but I haven’t done anything to try to start or anything cause a battery went dead fortunately now after watching this video, it says that I have to warm the jet ski up first so now I’m afraid that there could possibly be a court too much what do I do or how do I know? by looking into the crank case I don’t see any oil in there, so I don’t know if I’m supposed to be seeing some or not. do I need to siphon that quart out and then start the engine then I’m afraid that if I was low on oil, I don’t wanna be running the engine. I don’t know you guys have all the experience in the world. can you tell me what what I should do which direction to take. If for any input thank you.

Nice job. I just bought a 2018 ex sport with less than 10 hrs. I’m still confused on ckg oil. I didn’t get no manual But when it hasn’t run I don’t see anything on the stick now I just took it out for a 20 min ride and when i take out the stick i can see the oil. So do you really have to be careful about just letting it run a few minutes rather than getting it really hot ?? Help pls
