A very DISAPPOINTING SUNDAY ROAST in SOUTH WEST LONDON!

Today, I am in Surbiton in South West London for another Sunday Roast. No horseradish sauce again! This is becoming a common occurence... enjoy!

I agree 100%. Gary has a genuine, sincere down to Earth style of presentation. With most reviewers, it's more about their ego than the food. Gary is refreshingly different in that regard. With Gary, it's all about the food & the service :) Keep 'giving it a go Gary', you are legend mate!

I might be being a bit cynical, but it does make you wonder how often they forget components that are clearly on the menu, hoping no one will question it. At least there was no included service charge though. The beef looked like brisket that was roasted too fast, which is probably why it was not tender.

A tender roast beef with a little fat on it, new potatoes, a thick beefy gravy and a nice selection of veggies. If i get that, I'm a happy man!

What happened, did half the food slip off the plate on the way to you 😂 I thought it was extremely stingy for £19.50!
But I think your score was fair, what was there to be eaten, apart from the tough beef & dirty dish water looking gravy lol.. 6.5 spot on!

Hi again Gary, just watched " The Grove " Liked the look of the beer garden. A very nice location for any meal 😊 We can't argue with you on the overcooked beef .That was sacrilege to a noble beast.I have a pet peeve, this modern trend to pile the food high on the plate!!! Get bigger tableware.Set the food so you see what you have, and don't have to dig down to find, the veg, potatoes or whatever. Gravy should be served in a sauce boat or jug😢 On the plus side.Vegetables, roast potatoes and the Yorkshire Pudding looked fine. Small portions, but today's cost mean less food or higher price. So, as you said you may have been unlucky, no chef wants to send out bad food, but we all have bad days. It seems as though you have had a run of bad luck on you adventures with Sunday Roasts .
The last two or three I have watched have been something less than stellar experiences .

Catching up with older vlogs and this one did show a huge difference in quality, compared to some more recent roast dinners. It looked more like a family roast, where Mum has to do everything and timing is slightly off for the completed meal, than something cooked in a professional kitchen. A shame as the serving size was smaller than expected, too. Thank you for showing the good, the bad and maybe, yet to be seen, the ugly!

In About 10 days I’ve watched approximately 25 of your great restaurant food & service reviews.Some similar YouTubers with same idea as your channel can take an age to get around to actually consuming the food review etc Great & refreshing

Not sure if you're still doing the Sunday Roasts, but there's a little French place in Islington that does a really good, reasonably priced roast, including lamb which we've found to be one of the best we've had. The restaurant is La Petite Auberge, Upper Street. Give it a try!

Gary, Another good and honest review. I was fearful what the outcome would be at the very start of the video, seeing you walk into a near empty pub on a Sunday for a Sunday roast. From the images I could see that it is quite a big pub, however, pubs with a good reputation for serving up an excellent roast dinner would have had a lot more 'bums on seats' by the time you arrived, unless you got there at the crack of dawn.
