Hello Coach Ryan. Your video is superb. After 8 years, I’ve finally executed a proper kick serve after watching your very clear and excellent video. You are an exceptional teacher. I’m so happy! Many thanks!

Best kick/topspin serve lesson I have seen by Ryan or anyone else. I fail when I try to learn the kick serve, but with this lesson I will try again. Thanks for sharing great detail.

I will try this method out soon. I have been practicing your regular serve method "knock the pointy hat off" with some success. As you advised, it felt awkward (for a couple of weeks ) but perseverance has paid off and I now have a better serve than before. Thank you Ryan.
I have also started putting into practice your points about hitting a regular top spin forehand, especially making sure the non-racquet hand is out in front of the body at approximately shoulder level and again this is working well for me. Never bothered to take tennis lessons before therefore I am very happy I came across your videos on YouTube.

Thank you Ryan! It's all gradually being demystified for me. As both kick and slice have pronation follow-through going out to the right (for righties) would be great if you would use your kneeling demo to bring out the difference between the two, or all three: slice, flat, and kick. Then the slow mo will show how the orange ball spins through the air, why kick swerves to the left through the air (exactly the same as slice) but bounces up to the right when it lands (opposite of slice) which is complex. Then I think I'll finally get it. One hopes. Thx again, enjoy all your videos.

Ryan, thanks again for the excellent lesson!!! I got out today and put what I learned to work and I made great strides, hitting about 80% in and tormenting the hell out of my tennis partner!!! Thanks again pal!

Ryan, very good points, continental grip, body to the side, hit it when ball comes down and pronation.

My experience is when your toss is above the head instead of forward into the court, the ball tends to go long and lacks power. I agree with everything you say, but would add toss the ball slightly forward into the court in line with your head.

Hi thanks for this video. I am used to use hammer grip for serve. I am not quite sure to pronate as you do. Should i use continental grip to experience better pronation?

Hii ryan,
I am confused with the toss of second serve as some coach says that the toss must be exactly above your head and some says that the toss must be behind the head . Please help me in this case .
Waiting for reply

Hi, could you do a video on how to avoid foot faulting while serving. I think this is something a lot of players including myself struggle with. And there aren't that many videos that address this topic.
