If you think the referendums were "shams", get Ukrainian Azov government to perform a second round of referendums. Easy peasy! You're welcome. I am glad to help with international diplomacy and understand that when the only tool a man has is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

As a Canadian citizen familiar with Quebec's Separatist Movement and referendums in 1980 and 1995, as well as ongoing discussions about the separation of Alberta from Canada and California from the USA, I know that the land goes with the citizens. It's strike me as odd that the land of the Donbass would stay with Ukraine, while the people migrate to Russia. The People of the Donbass have wanted to separate from Ukraine since 2014. So why is this situation not being recognized as such and in fact, ignored until the People of the Donbass asked for Russia's help in becoming independent, sovereign republics just this Feb 24th?

You might as well be telling an abused woman that she can leave her abusive husband, but she can't take any of her belonging with her. She's is leaving and she's going to stay at her friend's place for now. She's made up her mind to be a free and independent REPUBLIC. If Ukraine cared about the PEOPLE of Donbass, he'd let her have her independence and be gracious about allowing her to take what she needs and what she has paid for herself. PEOPLE are sovereign nations. Governments are just public institutions, created and funded by PEOPLE.


Remember, the state doesn't dictate it's will to the people of a free and democratic society. The PEOPLE through votes and referendums MANDATE the objectives and goals of their PUBLIC SERVANTS in public institutions. Why would democratic societies encourage Ukraine to act any differently? Isn't the US in the business of LIBERATING PEOPLE from oppressive governments anymore? Don't you agree that the PEOPLE of the Donbass have UN Charter rights to SELF-DETERMINATION, just like Canadians and Americans do? Come on, man!
