This is why you're rushing your downswing

A lot of people really like the idea that if I eliminate extra movement in my swing, that's going to allow me to be more consistent. But there's a problem with that...

Jon Rahm has made a pretty good living with a short quick backswing

I find that to make a bigger swing that I need more lower movement. The result for me is inconsistent. I find it difficult to move more and yet keep control.

The key is speed at the bottom, leverage the force of gravity which is an acceleration. Look at John Daly, who we all know hits it a mile and prefers a very long swing and John Rahm who has to use a short swing due to anatomy. Either works, the key is speed at impact, colling and using natural forces. Pete Cown ftw.

So what's the lesson then? Smooth out the swing and lose 90 yards?

What about John Cook? He's had a great career with that half swing. I will click Don't Recommend.

The longer the backswing, the less effort is required to achieve a certain club-head speed - analogy - the engine of a car needs to work less hard to achieve a speed of 100mph over 100m than it does to achieve the same speed over 50m

My wife likes the long slow strokes.

Let's see a slow longer swing stats. Dude just cut the video without and evidence to prove his point.
