It is crazy when you see Tesla's financials and they have the best margins of any automaker in history as an EV pure play.

I work for a vendor that supplies both SpaceX and Tesla. Their buyers and engineers are brutally good. Their top notch engineers get things done in 1/3 of the time compare to competitors.

Zac and Jessie from Now You Know were day 1 reservation holders of their top speck. They have yet to hear from Rivian and were expecting their R1T LAST October! Communication regarding their order has been less than stellar.

You have not mentioned Jim Farley's comment that Ford's vehicle delivery to customer cost is $3000 to $4000 higher per vehicle than Tesla's. Add their advert costs and Tesla has a $5000 advantage before any production and battery cost advantage.

In the case of Rivian, I was a bit disgusted by all the custom parts and pieces. They didn't think about mass production at all.

An additional problem for traditional automakers is that (in Europe at least it is) they have to support for at least 10 years access to spare parts and the delivery of them for (ICE) vehicles that will be no longer on sale, even as they go down… The ICE vehicles that will no longer be allowed to enter the big cities… Cluster f*ck

As soon as I heard ford's splitting up there EVS from their ice I figured the same thing of them splitting off into a whole new company when they're ice vehicles go under my only question is is there EV company going to be liable for the pensions of the people from Ford or are they completely off the hook and what happens to those people.

I'm a day 1 reservation holder for Cybertruck, also added an R1T order because CT keeps getting delayed. As of the R1T price hike, I nuked my order. That truck is just not worth an extra 20% on an already hefty price.

EV business is so different from ICE that Ford and GM are actually like startups with all the difficulties that presents. Only advantage they have is access to capital but they carry two much legacy baggage.
