Thank you Mark, Great Video as Always. You've answered 3 of my Immediate questions I had, especially the changing of the sand. This is my 3rd yr and I barely vacuum as my pool stays clean most of the time. So it seems I have a cpl of more yrs before changing. I won't ever go more then 5yrs. Ty

I'm the guy who had a problem with a dirty pool.
You helped me out and it worked but most importantly, you answered my question with a legit and caring answer and within a very timely manner. Thnkx again
I bought a manual vaccum, added flocculant and then had to vaccum 4 times to get all the stuff out. After each time I vaccumed, there would still be stuff left after the water settled down. It took me 4 times but it eventually got out.
I needed a manual vaccum and flocculant.
I'm still stuck with the question do I need a new filter as mine wont catch the very fine material and my pool is gonna get dirty again.
I cannot believe they would make sand filters that won't catch this stuff. Will a new sand filter catch this fine stuff or will it not catch it.
Take Care

Newish Above Ground Pool Owner - here.... Enjoying theses videos.. My pool did NOT come with a skimmer; (leaves and bugs automatically filter into the skimmer).. Is there a recommended one and HOW do you install it onto one of the two in-liner pool filters? Hope you understand my question.. Thanks

Hi Mark! Enjoying your videos. Question I have is that I have sand coming in when using the pump. I have changed laterals and middle pipe. I have tried 3 different types of sand and just since May changed to glass media. I am at a loss. Vacuum with a robotic vacuum. Pool is clean but once pump comes on here comes the sand. What am I missing? Thank you for your help

Hi Mark, I’m a new pool owner and I have lots to learn and really enjoy your videos. Is it normal to have spurts of bubbles coming out of the returns?

What do you mean by sand in the pool? I have a 1989 that uses diatomacious earth in the filter and I just noticed it has showed up in small amounts in my jacuzzi and pool too. Is that indicating a problem occurring?

I have sand in my pool all the time, sigh... but that's only because my backyard is 75% sand and 25% dirt. Pains of living a block and a half from the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. One thing I would love to know, how do you keep a pool cool? Since I have a 19x38 pool (I say 20x40, but that's semantics) and current temp readout is at least 98F. I think this summer, it's upto 100F. WHICH even for a man who likes a warmer pool, that's too warm. Edit: Also, how hard is it to retroactively fit a fill system?

Thnkx
Question: My pool is constantly dirty, dont think it's algae as I keep a high chlorine level. When I brush it, it puffs up in a white and gray cloud. Also, the pressure on my gauge has stopped rising. Over 1 month and the pressure has not gone up at all.
Has my filter stopped working and is the mess on my floor & walls the stuff the filter is supposed to catch. I'm at my waist end, PLEASE
Thank you so much for your time &

I notice under my return jet, what looked like sand and brown dust in the same spots on the floor. I vacuum on waste, 8 hours later, it returned with nobody in the pool. I have mustard algae and have used two treatments (4 lbs/ tx) yellow out and followed instructions. I still have algae. What is the proper way to clean pool toys, floats, etc? Most swim suits can not be dried on high heat so what kills algae on suits if they air dry? I have about 30, 000 gallons. My neighbor has a pool and we go back and forth in each others pool and he does not have mustard algae. Do I not have MA like I think I do? If I did, wouldn't we transfer MA to their pool?
