What a Genius!!! I am so amazed when I watched this, I've learnt a lot so far especially what to look out for and how to find an problem using a scope.

Well done. I love the look of the model 1 master system. I very recently modded mine with a DA retro 60hz kit. Works wonders and worth a look. Great vid.

Man I wish I had a scope. I just take shots in the dark with this stuff. Really good video though.

This has been very helpful. Do you know of a cheap source for that ram. Maybe other late 1980s devices that used it?

My sms has similar issues. The built in game on mine is missile command. The Sega logo looks OK on startup but missile command is a graphical mess. Some games seem OK other have graphical issues. I recapped the board and reflowed most of the solder joints. Do your think this is vram too?

Can we use the master system without the IO shield on the motherboard?

Is there no way to rescue the ms2? What kills them completely?

Your channel is so damn underrated. Great and interesting video! Would be cool if you try to polish the case.

Hi Four X,

I've watched some of your videos on YouTube which were really interesting. They are recorded in a better quality than most I've seen and very informative. Would you be willing to give me some pointers on repairing my own Master System or possibly consider repairing it (of course I'd pay you)? Please let me know, I've struggled to find anyone who has the equipment or knowledge to help me.

The issue is it won't output a signal to the TV even though it is getting power. I know its not a tuning issue either because I also have a Master System 2 which works just fine. I suspect its something simple but inside on the motherboard and I am not that confident to start soldering, or swapping out components but could learn, or pay someone else to do it, although don't know anyone with the knowledge.

I'm hoping you can help please.

Nice fix. Never heard someone from the UK pronounce it "SEE-GA" before, thought it was just an Ozzie thing.

Hi I would like to ask for information, I also have the same problem, except that it only does it with the cartridge of a game, while the integrated game hang out works perfectly so on a graphic level.Sound also works, in the case of the game cartridge (Xenon 2) as if it were corrupt, I tried to clean it with isopropyl alcohol, But that didn't help to fix, the game is trying to play, at some point it crashes. Is there an explanation? Thank you very much, I found your video trying to find a similar solution to my problem, I hope someone can give me some help and some advice on what it might depend on, Greetings Peter.
