it would have been much better and informed discussion, if someone from south India had taken part

Let's leave the politics to those who are rather good at it. Good point by anchor.

Debate boils down to Bihar & UP breeding like rabbits. Haryana has been spending on irrigation, primary education, health, infrastructure, dairy development since 1966. Population control happened in my father's generation. While Bihar was busy with Caste Arithmetic and electing Lalu Yadav. Lalu is still relevant in Bihar and that's real problem. May be Bihar and UP should rethink their politics and stop breeding like rabbits.

North will develop if they stop fighting in the name of religion and caste...

Rstv should also call south Indian to participating in discussion.

Good debate...there should not be more than 4 panelists, otherwise it creates confusion... smooth discussion...

Rajya Sabha has proved stupid again by not inviting a south Indian for the debate. This non-recognition of south's views on national matters is precisely what the south was disenfranchised with. They will invite a lost Samajvadi Party person for a debate on national matters, but never gave a thought to take south's views as South India contribute 50% of national GDP. Together with Adjoining Maharastra & Gujrat; we are subsidizing the entire country and we get no respect and all south Indians are put in a Tamil basket. How many North Indians know the number of languages spoken in the South. Even educated people in the North don't know it. So, the Tamilians ( I mean the Black South ) after taking insults ; neglect ; disrespect from the utter incompetent North, should just give away more of their hard earned money to the corrupt North just for the fun of it .????South is already angry with the North for decades of name calling. No one in the South will accept any change in reference., 1971 is locked and key thrown away. If you open it- YOU will open- Pandora's box.

Haven't heard a much moronic point from a prof - "Parents taking care of children. Centre GIVING funds to states". A time may may come when you get thrown out of the house.

One of the most stupidest debates seen on RSTV. But kudos to Vishal, he tried his best to keep the debate sane and balanced. Even, Mr. AK seemed biased today.

it should be observed in comprehensive manner... this is like a joint family system...if u won't help u r poor and needy brother in earlier stage..more earning family member has to bear that burden...otherwise earning member will have to bear burden a lot compared to now in future..what if Indian tax payers say i.e 1.5%(1.9 cr ) of 125 cr population ...why we bear the burden of other 98.5%...we should be more benefitted... so...folks ..finance commission is aware of all this things...go for facts and statistics.. don't look at in political benfitted angle...when it comes political represention at centre is concerned... it should not be based on population

Anchor ran out of questions to ask the panel members, thus failed to take the discussion forward.

Population growth while we are still sitting in pile of poverty is worst. The panel did get completely wrong about population growth in India.

I don't get the logic behind why the poorer states shouldn't get more funds than the developed states.Otherwise it will be like USA getting more funds from World Bank than African nations or India.

"You cannot rob/loot PETER forever to pay PAUL and after that let Paul decide what is national narrative." A developed state requires a budget to match it's performance. South is giving jobs to many North & North -East professionals in their peaceful silicon valley's unlike the rude north and taking the entire country forward. Your plan will destroy the only performing states in the country who are also dealing with poverty their own states. Unlike in North, poor people in the south don't like to take hand outs ; only work accepted. So, Let the South do their job, don't mess with them.

The Panel couldn't even pronounce kerala properly ( saxena calls it Keral ). Complete one side story is given, the other side story should have been presented for a better debate. ( a south Indian economist would have a different point and opinion).
