The lyrics come from "Hávamál", from the Poetic Edda.
The text is about the importance of hospitality: a value central to Old Norse society. Opening one's door to whoever asked for a place to stay, sharing food, drinks, a place by the fireplace, and see to that they didn't leave empty-handed (hence the importance of gifts).
I know a transcription in runes of such a text doesn’t really have any reason to be, if not as a treat, but yeah…that’s just what it is, bear with me.
Any suggestion and/or observation is warmly welcome.
The pronunciation is admittedly quite spot on!
There's no distinction between "ø" and "ǫ", but that's probably due to the fact that they worked on a text that transcribed both as "ö". I wouldn't have closed "á" quite THAT much, but oh well. And the way those "ge" are pronounced in the beginning of the song... that's such a dead giveaway the singer is Swedish x)
But quite well pronounced nonetheless
