Top 10 Characters DC Stole from Marvel
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... so Marvel ought to feel very flattered. Marvel started producing superhero comics after DC, and took many cues from DC when they were creating their own heroes, so you can think of these as a bit of payback. Sure, DC put their own spin on these characters, but let's be honest: these characters are pretty clearly taken from Marvel.

Some people already know that MARVEL and DC sometimes take each ideas/characters.

I've always believed DC and Marvel were just parallel worlds from each other, when you think at it from that stand point, none of it really matters.

In all seriousness, can we please agree that both companies are great? Please, PLEASE

I don’t think we could label red hood as a copycat, they both debuted really close together so they were probably just written at the same time

Bucky and Jason both came back within months of each other. That one is more of a coincidence than anything

Red Lion, created by Christopher Priest. Y'know. That guy who wrote one of the most definitive runs of Black Panther. I think, maybe, there may be a correlation.

Imagine if there was a Smash game with DC and Marvel characters.
The Copycats would be the echo fighters.

The creators of Swamp Thing and Man Thing were roommates who thought of the character together. They both claim that they thought of the character first.

I personally love counterparts from different companies because it's really interesting to see other people's take on the same idea. But some counterparts are lazy style-biters and just flatout suck.

So Marvel stole character from Dc
and Dc stole from Marvel, either way, I don’t care! I respect these comics houses and I love both of them!! Who’s with me?

So I'll mention this, just in case you arent aware, Lord Havok and Tracer come from the DC Multiverse Earth 8. Where all the Heroes and Villains are deliberately created to resemble the Marvel Universe. So I wouldn't call those characters "Stolen Characters". I'd also not include characters that were released a month apart (Red Hood & Swamp Thing).as it takes months to write, publish and get your book to market. This can be summed up to ether Serendipity, in the case of Swamp Thing/Man thing, the creators were friends and each "Inspired" the other.

I personally think Aquaman is more popular than Namor The Sub-Mariner simply because of the name.

Namor The Sub-Mariner has NO ring to it at all and is just an unattractive name to even think of. Aquaman is much simpler.

Oh hell, theyve both stolen from each other..not the first time.

I think Namor is a much deeper and more interesting character than Aquaman, with a real agenda and sympathetic motivations.

I don't see copycats as a bad thing. I love the "copycats" from both sides. I see the originals as an inspiration for the later character.

Unless they just blatantly copy the original like Hyperion, Red Lion, and other characters lol

This is the first I've heard of Red Lion. Really, DC? Really?

Lobo really needs to be on more top 10 DC lists, he'd be a perfect character on this list as a copy of both Wolverine and Punisher; alternatively, Lobo was actually the real inspiration for Deadpool along side Deathstroke.
