Understanding Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) including Excel - Statistics Help

When you have more than two groups that you are comparing, you may need to use ANOVA. Dr Nic explains what Analysis of Variance does, with a special emphasis on how to interpret output and the hypothesis test involved. We include post hoc tests and the non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test.

Outputs from Excel and the open-source Jasp are used, with data about levels of qualification and household income.

Question: if we are dealing with a lot of data where we need to score scale results for analyzing our study data; will we mainly just use one type of test (I.e. Test of means, difference between proportions, Chi-square, etc.) OR with taking data from scales is it more about asking the right questions about what is being measured, what the categories are, how many categories are there, et cerera and you just have to ask these questions to yourself in order to determine what kind of analysis to run for each and every question type from the scale that you are attempting to code for??
