For me, the macro lens is the unique selling point of the Hero 13 Black, which in my opinion makes the purchase of the camera worthwhile, as there is no alternative to it on other action cameras.

And yes, there are of course macro lenses for the older GoPro cameras, but they only focus on objects in a very small area, in contrast to the new macro lens for the Hero 13 Black, which is actually more of a normal lens that can be adjusted to the close-up range by manual focusing.

The advantage of this is that you don't have to keep changing lenses or fiddling around with bulky close-up lenses, but can set with a turn of the focus ring whether you want to use the hyperfocal setting common on action cameras or go into close-up mode, which even offers a little background blur.

If I didn't already have the Hero 11 Black, I would have already ordered the camera.

I hope that other companies, especially DJI, will take this as an example and follow soon.
