Under most circumstances, I would've been happy that FromSoft added a freaking shotgun to Elden Ring.

Unfortunately, they not only botched the one thing shotguns are known for (good damage at close-range), but they also forgot to nerf status buildup in the same vein, so what we got instead was... *_this thing._*

There was a dude with two sleep crossbows in pvp, and DESPITE having not one, but TWO broken ass ranged weapons, he got packed up by a melee only non spell user with a massively suboptimal build

Even if they fixed the individual projectile buildup, you’d still get a sleep proc point blank like this. The only thing that needs fixed about this situation is the amount of hits you get during the sleep animation.

Can't wait for this stupid crossbow to finally be nerfed... I've seen so much more of it since all the other things got nerfed because it's one of the few weapons that didn't get touched.
It honestly feels like the PvP experience has become worse since 1.12.3 somehow

Simply talisman swap to clarifying horn charm +2, the crucible headshot talisman, then change all your armor to boost focus, and use perfect block to get a backstab on the sleep shotgun user. Super easy, very simple, very fair and balanced.
