This is incredible! Normally with this stuff I'd expect app downloads, having to sign up with an email, all sorts of stuff. Incredible innovations in technology interaction has been stifled by companies needing to squeeze every bit of data out of an individual. Here, the interaction was prioritized. Not the data collection. As a result coke was able to make a really incredible piece of tech. I hope it catches on!

As opposed to this route, I've been using the Freestyle app for a while now...it's great in that it remembers my custom drink mixes but my version of the app (iOS) still doesn't have a "pour" button...still need to touch the darn machine to have it pour my drink.

The QR code is basically a web link to interact with a machine. This is not revolutionary by any stretch of the imagination. It's not even something Coke can patent. I'm pretty confident many can improve on the implementation of this but I bet the legal team at Coke will have something to say if anyone else try to add a QR code to a drink dispensing machine.

Freestyle machines are destroying the brand. I no longer eat at Wendy's or Burger King because I don't like my Coke to taste like orange soda. DISGUSTING!
