Without first day first-party releases, Gamepass wouldn't be as good as PS Plus. That's the only advantage. PS Plus has more games. I only wish the premium classic collection was more organized. Like put all the PS1, PS2, PSP, etc, in separate categories, don't bundle these up.

I envy all those saying that after 6 months the PS + Extra does not offer high value because they went through the catalog already! If I play and complete 8 games in a year, that's a really good year for me! I wish I had pleny of time to play more 😢

I still think Game Pass is an incredible value for those that can truly take advantage of it on a month to month basis.
$20 a month is quite a lot for a subscription but I think it will fit a certain kind of persons lifestyle. It's not for me, as I'd much rather buy physical or buy digitally when games are on sale so I can keep them, but this is an interesting change. Thanks for the video duder!

Do you think Sony should include exclusive releases on PS Plus day one? 🤔

I'd like an option for online play and cloud saves only with no games. I don't have time to play the games I've already purchased

For either platform, you need the base tier to play multiplayer. THAT is what people are buying that tier for. Now for GamePass Core, you get a nice selection of 25 games. Wether those games rotate or not, its not clear. Then for Sony, you get the standard catalog with the Extra tier. That is a nice number of games and if you are a new user, its pretty hard to justify needing any more. However, PSExtra has months after months of junk instead of quality games, so if you are a Sony Extra user for 6 months, and you've played through the catalog, then Extra starts to feel like its not working for your money EVERY MONTH. On the MS side, it still feels like the rotating catalog is better managed with great picks they are "working hard for your money". On MS side, now there is the new tier which gets "more" games than core, but no day ones. It certainly feels like there is a missed marketing opportunity on the three Gamepass tiers where on the console side they could have called them: CORE, MORE, and ULTIMATE. And they need to do more marketing to explain why a customer would want to upgrade from Core to More. Like how many more games am I getting, are the Core games not changing, are the More games changing, and so on. As far as Ultimate tier goes, even with the price increase it is still the best deal in gaming. I have played 100s of hours of Diablo 4 and thats not even mentioning the rest of the catalog which still includes EAPlay titles like Star wars. Meanwhile on PSPremium, the added value seems really junky: Movies, Timed Demos, PS2 games and Streaming - none of these have any value for me. I guess I'm greatful that I don't see any reason to up my sub on sony side. Also on the Sony side, with EXTRA browsing games and finding new stuff is a complete pain in the ash. There's premium titles mixed in with Extra tier (HATE that) and the filters are bad, Sony doesn't even do good "lists" of titles I'd be interested in by theme. Here's an example: try to find the most recently added coop and multiplayer titles on Sony as an Extra tier user. It's not easy!! It should be!!! Bottom line GamePass Ultimate is still the best deal in gaming even with the price increase. Meanwhile Sony feels like they are taking too much profit from PSExtra without working to please me EVERY month.

I never thought day one releases make sense, financially. Microsoft has money to blow but I knew that plan wouldn't last. I like PS Plus, seems sustainable and has great value

What sucks about PS Plus is sharing it with others. I have to sign in & download the games on their console. While on game pass they can select & download the games without me having to sign in.

Pre orders of Spiderman 2, black myth wukong, and sales of stellar blade, and other games will give you your answer!

Game Pass recently got a price hike in India, making it similar in price to PS Plus Deluxe subscription. That too, without Cloud Gaming and Microsoft Rewards! I was initially considering to get Xbox Series X because of cheaper Game Pass Ultimate, but now since the prices are similar, I'm confused which to get. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

Unpopular opinion, I prefer the PS approach cause they offer decent games I neglected or wouldn’t waist money on. They don’t make it a necessity and a focal point to the system.

One of the biggest advantage of PS Plus Extra or Premium is that SONY allows you to subscribe for a year at a massive discount compared to GamePass Standard and Ultimate which is monthly only.

Example, Extra for a year is $135 Vs Standard for a year which is $180, both are $15 monthly.

i want the innovations to be in hardware and software, not cash extraction. i buy games and i don’t want to rent them. i have no choice about PSN+ for online play—thanks, Xbox!—but i take it as a fair compromise that there are bonus games each month.

i don’t want to go any further than that and i don’t want PlayStation to go Xbox’s route

can you play ps games with a ps plus subscription without owning a ps4 or ps? do you have to have a ps console to play with ps plus??

I have both consoles and Gamepass wins every time. I don't play COD but if i did I'd rather it be included in the subscription than have to buy the game and a subscription to play it. Sony wouldn't even include Helldivers 2 in their sub which is bizarre for an online only game. No way I was buying the game and a subscription to play it!
A lot of the multi platform games that are only a trial on PS+ premium are full games on Gamepass.

Not hard to know it’s game pass plus still doesn’t give first party games on the highest tier which is premium it’s the oldest games is what they give want to play PS1 games that’s what you get where if you have ultimate game pass you can play Indiana Jones day 1

So true. I was so happy with game pass. But know the changes also stopped me playing games like bf5 online. It’s now 17, 99 to play online ea games. That’s totally crazy. I’ll now switch to PS5. The plans for online gaming are much better. Never thought Microsoft will increase it so much.

I’m not an Xbox guy, but I got the 2nd tier of PS+ right when I got a ps5 because of all of the extra games you get access to. A month later I upgraded to premium for the older catalog of games because it was only a couple dollars more a month. I come from the Nintendo side of things though primarily and while they’re not a perfect company, I have really enjoyed and appreciated the value of Nintendo Switch Online + expansion pack. As a cliche nostalgia obsessed millennial, I love having access to playing all of my favorite games I played growing up. I’ve heard that Nintendo did it even better with the WiiU virtual console but I sadly missed that generation.

Both should make a cheapest tier for online play without free games
