Knowledge and confidence go a long way! I've watched maybe 5 videos, and already I'm convinced she can do anything! 😀

Thank you for creating this “outlet“ video - makes me confident enough to do it myself & not wait for the hubby to do it

When my childhood home had an addition constructed, my mom had all the outlets put at beadboard/banquet height, and I think it should be standard across the globe! Out of baby reach, always more convenient, easy to integrate so they aren't more noticable than lower outlets, anything reaches its cord just fine...almost no downsides.

You forgot to mention an important safety step! Shut off the power to the outlet at the breaker box. In the video we can see you testing that the outlet is off, but you don't mention it.

This is wiring "in parallel" which works fine and is fairly common. But if you have an old house, your outlet boxes may not be big enough for all those extra wires. In that case, skip the pigtails and daisy chain/ wire "in series." You just leave the hot wire on the outlet and add the new wire to the other set of screws.

And if you don't feel confident and comfortable, there's never any shame in hiring a professional.

Also, we don’t know what she did under those cabinets, but if you care about quality and resale, don’t just cut opening and slam your cabinets against the wall, buy some box extenders, and mount your receptacle after you install your cabinets so you have a nice, professional, clean install.

I draw the line at electrical. I have a licensed electrician brother who will do it for me. 👍👍

I appreciate the informative video but I don’t understand why you have the cords hanging from the sconces if you understand electrical why aren’t those sconces installed properly?

Safety 1st with electricity
NOTE some localities & insurance cover may need professional electrician, AND dont forget fire departments advise most house fires are electrical 😮

I wouldn’t follow this video unless you know some basics of electricity as this video shows her installing 20 amp plugs, and while she does run the appropriate wire to feed the new ones, in most homes, your receptacles are NOT going to be 20 amp, they will be 15 amp, she feed the new receptacles off of preexisting 15 amp ones, so this video may really be showing you how to violate electrical code. How do I know this just by looking at a receptacle? The horizontal opening in the left plug terminal tells me that.

Long story short, the majority of your receptacles are going to be 15 amp, the wire used isn’t rated for 20 amp receptacles. So if those receptacles where wired with 12 awg wire, it’s fine, but this isn’t usually the case.

Please don't just go moving outlets and become 1) code violation 2) fire hazard 3) insurance issue 4) your mortgage company can start foreclosure if you create these violations!!!

This is why I hate these DIY videos. As an electrician, you know that your only allowed 8 receptacles on a 15 circuit, and 10 on a 20 amp circuit. What she doesn't tell you is, that depending on what device your using (hair dryer, or anything else that pulls 10 to 12 amps will cause your breakers to trip. She doesn't have a clue😂
