Considering both are using Sony sensors, but the Xperia's sensor is so much newer, it's technically the better camera.
Blown away by Pixel's software optimization for the auto settings. Dream phone would be Pixel software in Xperia hardware

I spent months in watching camera comparison videos, I saw all in your channel, after all that I bought Pixel 4a. Seeing this video makes me feel so lucky for choosing Pixel.
Great editing, great presenting, great music choice.

I looked side by side on a few images in the article and I've noticed that the quality of the Sony results have a out of camera feel and the Pixel has a phone photo quality. I didn't notice until I opened the images to really look at the images. Other than that the AI work on the Pixel is hands down better but add that to the Sony hardware and this will be an easy win for the Sony.

This phone isn't meant to me a pixel or iphone. It's meant to be used with the pro app. Not for the average consumer .

Disagree, I have had both phones now, and have done some comparison, the Xperia 5 II and the pixel 5 have their own pros and cons on cameras, in most of scenarios, I prefer the Sony as more realistic and better than the pixel 5 with huge amount of detail, but in some rare scenarios say taking a photo through a dark room window, and the darkest (room) and the brightest bits (Sun) could be slightly better with the pixel 5, where you can find a little bit of more details. The review is very much biased.

Pixel's software just kills the Sony's hardware. Great video 📸

The Pixel 5 for sure. Just proves it's not just about the specs

I prefer the natural & cinematic look of the Xperia. That selfie camera is balls though (but i don't really care about that)

Xperia 5ii photos look cool tone at the same time pixel 5 photos little bit warm tone but it's look natural.

Pixel 5 appears to be better, but editing photos in Snapseed and Lightroom will produce less artifacts in Sony photos, because Sony's photos are simply more natural. I'm an Xperia user and can relate to that. Pixel's photos are simply over-enhanced and difficult to edit when the phone's software over compensates for the lack of light.

Xperia 5ii rear camera is really awesome but its selfie camera is not good as pixel selfie camera

This big gap is due to the fact that you have to shoot with Photo Pro in automatic mode and not with the regular app, Photo Pro shoots better even in automatic mode.

Sony wins. Pixel does better job in stabilization, portrait mode, and uses HDR more often than Sony, maybe even always do it, and it gives more details on video, but photos look flat. Sony does better job in colors and volume, so it makes me feel like I am inside of photo, and videos look cinematic. I prefer Sony. Even selfie camera is better, but I known that it is bad)

Wow! Sony has better still camera mode and face recognition in image brightness processing. I also like the wider lens however when it comes to video mode, Pixel won the game especially in overall low light condition. That night scape Sony showed complete darkness in the sky but Pixel was in brighter yellowish from the lights. Pixel captured good details at night.
Arg, hard to choose though.
Btw, Sony won the clear voice recording.

I own a pixel 5, and I'm going to say, it's been a let down.
The camera is good because of software and the hardware is garbage, if you get one you'll realize this with just using the phone a couple times. The phone is touted for an amazing battery with the 765 snapdragon, however it is slow in processing. A lot of reviewers said, "you won't notice the difference" that is a lie. I had an xperia 5 and an s20fe. Both ran smoother and gave far better media consumption experiences. Battery saver mode on the phone is a joke because the phone becomes choppy as hell once it's activated.
If you get an Xperia 5 ii, it will demolish the pixel 5 in hardware, media consumption, and overall experience. I have the normal xperia 5 and I go back to it constantly now.
If you get the pixel, the point and shoot camera does a great job most of the time, but processor killed the quality of this phone. Software is amazing, but google like to be cheap and the speakers are garbage. I got the pixel 5 for 450 an I still feel like I got ripped off. An I enjoyed this phone quite a lot in the beginning, but you can't ignore the issues forever. Google's hardware is the main issue

Really nice samples!
That Sony ultrawide is certainly really nice, but other than that Pixel pretty much won in my eyes - even in video capture O.o

That thumbnail photo looks terrible on Sony's side. Blown out and the sky is gray.

The pixel is the point and shoot champ...the Sony is for those that want to use the pro mode and tinker with photos...tho I wish it was slightly better at auto photos. Both great.
