The funny part is that Artorias is left handed. When we fight him and he whoops our ass, he is doing it with a broken arm, using his non-dominant hand, without his great shield, while being all fucked by The Abyss.

Also, who at Fromsoft decided it was a good idea to give Sif a limping animation when she is close to dying?

I think what’s fascinating about Artorias is that he was indeed a legend, he was a hero in his own right, he made a covenant with the abyss itself to be able to traverse it,

And of course, we don’t have a ton of lore on his previous battles and victories, but if he was one of Gwen’s for Knights he clearly was a bad MF

But that’s what makes his story tragic,
Like many great hero’s in the fromsoftware line up (Ludwig, Rahdan, Sir Alonne etc)
He tired his best to do good in the world, he challenged a threat that no other had been able to stand against,

And sure, he lost, but I mean, the one who went on too kill him also pretty much wiped the map back home so I mean, who wouldn’t lose to that?


All that being said, it is kinda messed yo that we not only don’t get credit, but they also just had to stomp on our hearts with all of Sifs content original and dlc based

I always make sure whenever Sif is at her limping strike phase to finish her off as quick as possible. To lessen the pain as best as possible...

Pretty sure Sif defends the grave to prevent anyone from being able to go into the Abyss. Sif is protecting you, and even though she is killing you, she knows it's a better fate than the abyss (and probably knows your undead and can respawn).

Lets all be real, that was Artorias' one and only L, he was still the strongest combatant in all of Lothric aside from their literal gods, and if Artorias had the curse, would've been able to do all that shit we did

Essentially he’s not a hype or fraud. He fell to the abyss, and we succeeded him saving his legacy. But we also freaking beat a couple lords, and high powered npcs on the way. So we are lowkey based asf

Artorias is actually him, he singlehandedly made four kings and others to retrieve to new londo, would he be able to beat all of the new londo + four kings or manus ? No but even Gwyn himself most likely wouldn’t be able to do it alone as well (or just barely do it). So yeah he is still op it’s just that we built different (also can respawn)
