In the military camp outside of Louisville, while foraging I found a wedding dress infront of a tent. Really weird and very confused but still a cool find.

Should also mention that it's important to "Discard" foraging finds that you don't want to still get the same foraging XP

Don't forget! Is there a car nearby and you can't find a key? Sometimes you can find them dropped on the ground nearby and using foraging can help you locate them!

Foraging is great, spears are a good range weapon and even when you are exhausted it still can crit kill zombies saving your life for now.

Also when foraging, make sure you hover your mouse over the eye in the foraging window. It will give you a list of bonuses and negatives. For example, I didn't realize that the welder's mask I was wearing (was doing a metalworking playthrough) gave me a minus 20% radius malus.

You can also find filled gas cans in trash piles, but is very rare. And if you exit to main menu and go back to your world it respawns all forageble items, so you can loot the same trash pile again and again until something good spawns.

You can double click on the little tag that pops up in order to collect the item instead of managing the right click menu.

I once found a partially filled propane tank in a trash pile through foraging. you'd be surprised by the things you can come across with foraging. it's one of my favorite skills for sure

Its amazing how every addition like this goes above and beyond. Like biome/terrain type would have been enough. But nope making every anomaly on the map have unique effects is amazing

Also you can tell the time of day by looking at the sun traveling across the foraging window.

Also Keys!! They are sometimes found beside a parked car or garage!

i play that game since the first steam release with that tiny map and the npcs..

every year i go back n play a ton of hours.. its always great to se how much get done after all these years

You can also use the foraging menu near cars to find the key to them, depending on the way the car was placed of course, every car CAN spawn a foraged key near it, however car wrecks have a higher chance of spawning it.

A good tip I found was that you should strafe while doing it to level up nimble. Having a good nimble skill can save you while in a sticky situation.

The "new" foraging System is so awesome.

I was using the old system sometimes but the new system is so good that Foraging is always my first max out skill. (Even why I start at 0)
