1:287 you're right, they're born to run.  that is a really nice exhibit there, but they need so much more room to roam around being the nomads that they are.  they also need the thrill of the chase of live prey.  This is beautiful, but not enough for them.  They are as wild as an animal could possibly be.
Just look at them, they are constantly moving around and on the run.  they need excitement, and vast space to run about.  This is actually quite sad.

This great and all, but they really need so much more land to run free and roam, as well a the thrill of the chase for their.
People are constantly saying how nasty and vile these African Wild Dogs are, but these people are probably not aware of the other 95% of the dogs dynamic lives and social system.

If you don't like the dogs that much, then you probably don't know much about them.  I also used to loathe these African wild dogs, but after watching dozens of videos and learning more about them, I've come to really like and appreciate them. With the killings, all you're seeing is the ugliest part of them.  Give them a chance.  Lions used to be my fav, but now its the dogs, bc of how social and compassionate they are with each other.  this eating other animals is only about 5% of their lives, and they do that to take in as much food as possible before another animal such as Lions or Hyenas come in and bully them to steal their kill.  **case in point, watch part of this video at 3:25 where the hyena comes to take their prey.  Here are a couple of example videos of why they try to devour their food before anything else comes to steal it from them.
So eating their prey as quickly as possible is necessary and brutal, but the rest of their lives is adorable.  watch a couple of these video links I'll attach and take notice to how caring and soft they all are with each other.  Give them a chance before hating them so much. Like I said, I used to hate them too.  They look after the young, old, injured, and babysitters that can't go on hunts, and share their food with all, unlike any other species. One of the many things I really like about them is their communication methods and sounds of chirping, twittering, whimpering, slight barking n& growling, and other fascinating sounds.  There are som many things about them that I think is unique and special.
 NO OTHER CREATURE ON EARTH HAS THE SOCIAL DYNAMICS AND COMPASSION FOR THE PACK AND OTHERS AS DO THE AFRICAN WILD DOGS aka PAINTED WOLF aka CAPE HUNTING DOG, few more names I believe as well.
