It's so fulfilling to see those air bubbles come up and pop!

For best results, a concrete vibrator needs to be used AS the concrete is being poured into the forms - not after. From the video, it looks like the concrete has already begun to setup, and it looks like the vibrator has punched a deep hole into the setting concrete. If this is the case, you have actually weakened the concrete by thrusting the vibrator tube into it. Of course, I was not there to test the viscosity of the concrete - I am just relying on my eyes and 46 years of doing cement work.

Thanks for the video. Pouring 12 deck footings. Thought about getting this to help settle and level concrete when poured. I'm sold.

Honest question: How can one tell if the concrete has been vibrated enough?

Wrong. You vibrate as its being poured. Five seconds, one plunge. Not 300 plunges at end.

It doesn't sound like you struck the head against anything, it says specifically in the instructions to do so to engage the motor to the shaft otherwise the motor will spin freely and the vibrator will only have minimal effect.
