A baby Harp Seal is approaching! 'Are you my mother?'

The eyes of Harp Seal are suited for underwater. They can't see well above the ice. They use smell to identify each other. This baby mistook me as her mother then came to smell me.

I heard that Antarctic photographers cant actually feed/pet any of the seals and other animals, since the animals might become dependent on humans, and i just wanna say that i applaud and deeply respect all Antarctic photographers for their self restraint to not pet and adopt these beautiful fluffy boys

This is why I could never be a wildlife photographer. The moment this fluffy bundle of adorable innocence came up to me, I would not be able to resist adopting it.
Baby harp seals are abandoned by their mother after only a couple weeks! I WANT TO GIVE THE BABY A HOME AND THE LOVE IT DESERVES! So many die soon after they're abandoned
