Fender Custom Shop 57 Masterbuilt Stratocaster 50th anniversary by Dennis Galuszka 2007 Sunburst

You cannot get any closer to a real 1957 Strat that this. Masterbuilt by Dennis Galuszka in collaboration with Leo Fender’s righthand man George Fullerton. This Strat was built in a limited release of 100 guitars. Everything is build to replicate a 1957 Strat. The soft V shape neck, 7.25″ radius, two tone sunburst, 1957 handwound pickups my masterwinder Abigail Ybarra (signed see pics) and the lightweight alder body.

Check out how this guitar sounds. Recorded with a Røde NT2A in front of a clean Blackstar HT5R with just a bit of Reverb from the amp. I play a G Chord and some mediocre blues noodling in G in all switch positions. You can find pics and info on my website.

A Strat is a Strat, isn’t it? Not really. Since ‘54 every Fender Stratocaster is different. Neck profile, pickups, weights, kind of woods used, fingerboard, finish, Custom Shop or reissue. Even if you have two Strats of the same year, the same type and the same setup, they will not sound and play the same. My advice, buy a used Strat. It will hold it’s value, so you will play for free! What is your perfect Strat? My answer: Never enough Strats!
