Please watch: "Free Field Antenna Books You Need NOW! (REVISED) #hamradio"
I've been asked to show off my portable ham radio gear and how I set it up. This is a bit of a loaded question because my gear, bag, and overall setup change depending on the situation. For example, when I'm traveling by airplane, I need to keep it tiny and light—often opting for QRP (low power) equipment.

But today, I’m showcasing the gear I've been carrying more recently. In this video, I’ll walk you through my current setup and explain why these particular items have become my essential gear for the field. I'll also go over things you may consider for your portable ham radio gear bag.

Video links That may help you. These links should help you see my gear, understand what gear i've used, or how to build your own gear:

Nice and easy explanation. Just goes to show that you don’t need a million dollars of equipment to get on the air. Another great video

Great video for those who live in a climate where you gave enough moisture . My ground Spike keeps breaking, I live in the desert Southwest so I always carry a bungee cord to keep my mast attached to a stump or tree.

Great video once again. I was out portable today and forgot the one size spanner (wrench) that I needed to tighten the antenna bracket, I have now bought 3 adjustable ones and put in each separate kit so I am guaranteed to have one with me always.

I really like your videos!! The broken part on the ground spike, I had that problem with a paint pole. Laid the piece on its side, its not a pretty print but it is so much stronger with layers going up and down as opposed to round and round! The end fed you used.. where can I find the plan for that, there are many out there but it seems your stuff works the best. Thanks again! Keep up the great shows. Greetings from Canada!

Thanks for the link to the Army field antenna manual. I have the Marine Corps antenna handbook (MCRP 3-40.3 C). I'm curious to see how they differ.

I have a suggestion…if you are going to add a comment overlay…give it another few seconds on the overlay. Its hard to read quickly, especially when you throw in a bunch of equations.

I'm in the same boat as you, no antenna as living in a flat with no garden-i'm looking at radios and there doesn't seem to be anything that can compete with the FT891, possibly the FT710? Which one would you buy If buying today?

I don't know about everyone else, but I have not had the Evelin Woodhead Sped Reading course. While I can stop the video to read a blurb, that's a fair bit of stopping for short blurbs that don't seem to need to be exceptionally short. I'm not counting the actual bristles in your beard. Taking away for the points you're trying to make might be a little better use of the time your video is playing. Just a sarcastic comment. Have a nice day.

@HAMRADIODUDE Asa, pc, but what about a hard tpu, enough infill that stuff is solid and will handle any wack or shear force 🦭
