Plot Outline:
"Deliverance" follows four Atlanta businessmen—Lewis Medlock (Burt Reynolds), Ed Gentry (Jon Voight), Bobby Trippe (Ned Beatty), and Drew Ballinger (Ronny Cox)—who venture into the remote Georgia wilderness to canoe down the Cahulawassee River, before the river is dammed.
Their adventure quickly turns into a nightmare as they encounter hostile locals and dangerous rapids, leading to a fight for survival.

Burt Reynolds as Lewis Medlock: An experienced outdoorsman and the de facto leader of the group.
