To see Loki this shook up was a shock to the system the first time I saw this episode, he's usually so unimpressed. That's how you knew Kang was a different kind of villain, not even Thanos scared him like this.

What makes Loki’s reaction to the end result more surreal and terrifying is a God is terrified of a human being and what he’s capable of and Loki’s normally not terrified of anything or anyone. He wasn’t scared of The Hulk, stood up to Thanos and a MAN struck fear into him.

I love the Planet of the Apes style ending.

The hero of the story goes back home, thinking he’s safe and that the horrors of what he’s seen are no longer a threat, only to see that a symbol of power he’s familiar with is gone and replaced with the one he fears. The statues of the time keepers are gone, and in their place stands the statue of KANG.
